The Standard LE Tactical Vest is a heavy-duty outer tactical ballistic vest built for durability, versatility, and professional use. Constructed from rugged 500 Denier Cordura® with reinforced nylon webbing, it is designed to hold the same wraparound soft armor panels used in our VIP and Freedom concealable vests, allowing you to use one set of armor across multiple carriers. The vest also features easily accessible external pockets for front and rear hard armor plates, giving you the flexibility to scale protection as conditions require. A 7-channel by 4-row MOLLE bartacked webbing system provides ample space to attach mission-specific pouches and equipment.

To adjust the Standard LE Tactical Vest, begin by inserting your armor panels into the carrier with the labels facing your body. Loosen the waist straps or cummerbund and put the vest on. Adjust the shoulder straps so the lowest point of the front panel’s neckline aligns with the sternum notch at the top of your breastbone. Ensure the bottom edge of the back panel sits at the same height as the front panel, then secure the shoulder straps. Finish by tightening the waist straps or cummerbund for a snug fit, making sure the sides of the front panel overlap the rear panel for proper coverage.

To install hard armor plates, open the plate pocket on the front or rear of the vest by lifting the Velcro-covered flap located on the upper portion of the carrier. Slide a 10” x 12” plate into the pocket with the label facing the wearer, then fully reseal the plate pocket. Once the plate is secured, put the vest back on and make any final fit adjustments as needed.

The base price is for the Light Level II model. The Lighter and Lightest models provide greater protection with lighter and thinner materials and the price changes. The ballistic profiles of each model Light, Lighter and Lightest are as follows:

Light II

Light is the minimum standard for law enforcement and the general public seeking bullet-resistant protection. It is designed to protect against small handgun rounds, up to and including .357 Magnum jacketed soft point.

Lighter IIIA & IIIA+ Special Threat Protection

Lighter falls between Light and Lightest, costing less than Lightest while weighing more than Light. The standard Level IIIA ballistic profile is specifically designed and tested to stop the vast majority of handgun rounds, including .44 Magnum and .357 SIG, which are among the most powerful handgun bullets.

Level IIIA also stops lower-velocity rounds such as 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP, providing protection against most handgun threats. Additionally, Level IIIA will stop most shotgun rounds.

Special Threat IIIA+ protection includes stopping power for:

Free Replacement
If you’re ever in an incident where your armor was used to save your life, we’ll replace it with new or equivalent armor. Simply send us a copy of the police report and a request for new armor, and we’ll contact you to make the arrangements.
