Blackbeard, AKA Edward Teach, lit fuses under his hat to strike fear into the hearts of his enemies.

A fan of firearms, Blackbeard equipped his ship with 40 cannons, and went into battle with numerous pistols so that he would never need to reload.

He died in battle after fighting through five gunshot wounds and 20  stab wounds.
