After her high school graduation, Mrs. Doyle took her first job at the American Broach and Machine Co. near her hometown in Inkster, Michigan as a metal stamper. While working at the factory the United Press International (UPI) visited the factory and took a photo of her, which later inspired the “WE CAN DO IT” poster. Shortly after leaving the factory industry, Mrs. Bell began work at a soda shop where she met a dentist and married.
